We’re so excited to be running the Cosplay Masquerades at MegaCon Live Manchester in just a few weeks! Now all of the entrants have submitted their applications, it’s time to announce the judges for the weekend. We’ll be introducing one judge a day and you can meet all of them right here.
Announcing our first judge for the Sunday Cosplay Masquerade: SuperSailorJunko.
SuperSailorJunko – Junko for short – is a creative cosplayers who makes every outfit and smiths all the foam she can get her hands on. She admits that her favourite part of cosplay is sewing ruffles!
She’s been cosplaying since 2008, and found herself really wanting to develop and improve her skills from 2015 onwards. She has travelled the world, from Tokyo Game Show and Comicket, to AX and Japan Expo, experiencing different flavours of cosplay and fandom internationally.
She is passionate about her beliefs and has previously been published on diversity, disability, and inclusion in the UK cosplay community, exploring the different opinions and perspectives compared to the non-cosplay world.
We asked SuperSailorJunko: If you could give one piece of advice to the entrants you’re about to judge, what would it be?
Confidence is key: own the stage and strut your cosplay, this is your moment! If you feel nervous or anxious, just remember, it’s ok – you got this!!
