Performing is a big part of cosplay for many people, and often especially for those with bought, thrifted or commissioned cosplays. Thanks to community feedback, and the support of the MegaCon Live team, we’ve been able to secure extra time on the MegaStage and add in a third experience class: the Bard!
As the name suggests, our new Bard class is performance-based. You do not need to have made your cosplay to enter in this class, but you must have a clear performance plan. Now able to open up our competition to cosplayers from any walk or life, this class is specifically for cosplayers who have bought, thrifted or commissioned their cosplay, or made less than 50%. If you have made 50% or more your cosplay please register for the Adventurer class, or apply to the Artificer class. Info on both classes can be found here.
Due to the limited number of spots in the Bard class, this will be an application based class, like the Artificer class. All applications for Bards will be reviewed as a batch approximately 20-25 days after the applications open; the exact timeline will depend on the show. If there are more applicants than stage time, places will go to the most thorough and complete applications. You will be able to edit your application at anytime during the window in which applications are open.
What kind of performance can I do?
The Bard class is a part of the MegaCon Live Masquerade, and falls under the same performance rules as the other classes. All performances are limited to two minutes, and you are welcome to submit your own audio track. There are so many kinds of performances, from a musical number (lip-syncing included), dramatic scene, dance or movement piece, and more. Read our blog here about different kinds of performances to help get your creativity flowing.
This is a new additional class, based on the feedback received from the community and the support of the MegaCon Live team to bring you the best show possible, so please bear with us as we update the website! Keep an eye on our Insta stories to be the first to know when the form is ready for applications.
The request to add extra time to the show to enable the introduction of a performance class was approved by the show runners today, and is thanks to the feedback we received from the community. We appreciate that you are just as passionate as we are about cosplay, and really appreciate the considerate feedback you shared with us about the original two-class structure. We are grateful to MegaCon for supporting our show, and to the community for supporting us, and hope this is the best way we could say thank you! ❤️
