About Us

Established in 2015, the Guild of Nerds is a cosplay community organisation with members in Ireland and the UK. With a focus on inclusivity and skill-building, we strive to elevate and support cosplayers from all backgrounds and at all experience levels. From hosting Cosplay Masquerades and Showcases at events like MegaCon Live, to offering expertly curated and serviced repair tables, the Guild places cosplayers front and centre in everything we do.

We aim to empower the cosplay community by providing workshops, livestreams, and educational blogs on topics as diverse as cosplay photography, crafting, and entering cosplay competitions, with a focus on personal development and building a community. For our members, we also provide training tools for judging cosplay competitions, panelling at events, and more.

With a busy Discord server and regular meet-ups in Dublin and beyond we remain connected and engaged with the community beyond in-person events. We’ve had a great 2024 year!

In addition to our involvement with Gamerfest and Cosmic Rebels in Ireland, we are looking forward to returning to MegaCon Live events in the UK in 2025 as the producers of their Cosplay Masquerades, along with hosting the UK qualifier for the European Cosplay Gathering.

Amelia @captamelia
UK Director

Amelia began dressing up as a toddler and never really stopped. Her first convention was in 2012, where she was bitten by a radioactive cosplay bug. Now a prolific competitive cosplayer, she’s represented the UK at four different international acronyms (ECG, ICL, PGEC, and A2PBCC, where she placed 3rd), and is the current Insomnia Gaming Festival Cosplay Champion. Part-time princess and full-time drama queen, her favorite part of cosplay is performing; more often than not, you can find her on stage. She loves terrible TV, pirates, fantasy literature, museums, tea, dresses with pockets, musical theatre, baths, and oversharing.
